2017 is in the books and now we’re looking back on all the good we’ve been able to do in the Lake of the Ozarks, thanks to you.
We serve the best people. You are our pride, our joy, and the reason we show up every day. You’re also the reason why we’ve chosen to dedicate so much of our time, talent, and resources to organizations around the Lake of the Ozarks. After all, this is the community we call home. We believe in being good stewards to our neighbors. That’s why we spent a good chunk of 2017 showcasing, contributing to, and participating in organizations and events across this region.
Here’s a look back on what our year at McGrath Insurance Group looked like.
The Laker Theatre Co.
Every year, The Laker Theatre Co. puts on a musical and a non-musical. This year’s musical was Mary Poppins and we wanted to help spread the word about this incredible show. The tagline of the Laker Theatre Co. is, “High school students acting with professional quality.” We chose to support these students by promoting their talent and giving our community a chance to see an incredible production.
DECA
DECA is a unique program that supports students with an entrepreneurial spirit. The program regularly holds a competition as a way to build the youth’s leadership skills and nurture them on this unique path. This year, our employee Melissa Kupfer was asked to be a judge – a request she gladly accepted as a way to propel these driven students forward to success. Thanks, Melissa!
The Children’s Learning Center’s 10th Annual Night GLOW 5K Run/Walk
The Children’s Learning Center holds a special spot in our hearts. One of our own family member’s children has benefited from the services and support they provide. Every year, we put together a team to run in their annual GLOW 5K Run/Walk as a way of giving back to the organization that gave us so much.
Missouri Forget-Me-Not Horse Rescue & Sanctuary
For the first time ever, Porto Cima put on a special golf tournament to raise funds for the Missouri Forget-Me-Not Horse Rescue & Sanctuary. This tremendous organization gives life to horses that have been neglected by their owners. Prior to arriving, these horses are starving and sometimes too weak to stand. This local organization raised money this year and gave every dollar directly back to helping restore the health of these beautiful creatures.
31st Annual Laker Invitational
The McGrath family grew up in Camdenton enjoying the benefits of playing sports. Now, we continue to proudly give back to student athletes by participating in fundraisers that support these kids on and off the field. One such event was the 31st Annual Laker Invitational Golf Classic where we helped raise thousands of dollars for a good cause.
Lake of the Ozarks Air Show
We were also a proud Platinum Sponsor of the 2017 Lake of the Ozarks air show. This family friendly event featured exciting attractions including professional skydivers, aerobatic planes, historic aircraft, and more.
MECCA Farms
We beamed with pride for our employee, Melissa Kupfer, who is in her third year of successfully running a u-pick pumpkin patch in Camden County. The Kupfer family works hard year round to give hundreds of families from all over Missouri an exciting experience filled with memories they’ll treasure for a lifetime. Be sure to add this to your must-visit list next October!
